Operating Instructions

1)Screw uptake tube into pump.

2)Extend uptake pipe to required length. Note do not use fully

extended always close by 5 to 10mm to ensure correct seal at the sleeve.

3.Screw pump into drum or tank by rotating the pump mount in a clockwise direction. See fig 1.

4.Rotate lockring clockwise until fully tight against drum closure to lock pump into position. Note the pump can be locked in any desired angular position.

5.Locate crank handle on rotor shaft thread and rotate handle clockwise until tight.

6.Continue rotating the handle in a clockwise direction to prime the pump. This is usually achieved within 3 - 4 revolutions. The pump is self priming with most fluids.

ROTARY PUMP MODEL 1470

HAND OPERATED

Technical Data

Uni-directional hand operated rotary pump for transferring oils and other non-corrosive liquids from tanks and drums. Fluids that contain no properties of lubrication should not be used with this pump.

Pump is self priming with oil and similar viscosity fluids. 2" BSP drum fitting.

Anti-drip nozzle which can be replaced by a delivery hose (if required)

Telescopic uptake tube 750-1200 mm. 360° drum alignment secured by lockring.

Output Data

Continuous flow output.

Approximately 250 mls per revolution when fully primed. Variable flow rates up to 30 litres per minute dependent on viscosity of fluid.

Fig 2 ; Crank handle attachment and Pump rotation

The pump is uni-directional and will only operate when the crank handle is rotated in a clockwise direction. Rotating the handle in a counter clockwise direction will result in the handle becoming detached from the rotor spindle.

Priming

Should the pump not self prime the following procedure should be followed.

Remove the spout tube from the pump by rotating in a counter clockwise direction. Pour approximately 100cc of

the fluid into the top of the

pump chamber and refit the

spout tube.

Warning !

This pump was designed to be used with lubricating oils, but will pump a wide variety of other fluids that have a degree of lubricity. It is not suitable for the pumping of fluids which have a degreasing nature as this will lead to premature failure of the pump.

Do Not use this pump for the dispensing of paraffin.

Always read the warning labels on drums and ensure that the recommended safety equipment and protective clothing is used as directed.
